This is about as handy as printing test pages gets, so this is my recommended option. They’ll get to pick the target output device in the ensuing print dialog boxes that show up to drive the output process. Users need only navigate to that home page, then click whichever button they like. The home page offers options for B&W and Color test page prints. This is a great little tool for those who don’t mind adding another small program to their PCs (or to their portable tools UFD, as I might recommend instead). But it is checked by default, so be warned! The program does a good job of showing (and printing) color gradients, and you can use the color pickers to define a Custom Gradient. You can install the program as a regular executable, or as a portable program (which usually means installing it to a USB flash drive). It comes in the form of a 371 KB ZIP file download. Installable (or portable) program comes from German-based software developer Nenad Hrg at Software OK. You can use these test pages pretty quickly to identify when you might be having issues with one or more toner cartridges (for both CMYK and RGBK color models), and to get a better sense of how well your printer is doing and performing. I’ve found a couple of alternatives that show more of a printer’s capabilities, especially for color printers.
